Bangladesh adds third train pair on Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route

Bangladesh Railway extended Mohanagar Express service to Cox’s Bazar on Oct. 26, adding a third pair of trains between Dhaka and the coastal tourist destination, The Business Standard reported.

The service previously ran between Dhaka and Chattogram. It joins Parjatan Express and Cox’s Bazar Express, with 736 seats in one direction and 706 in the other.

Scheduled departures are 8:30 p.m. from Dhaka, arriving at 6 a.m. the following day, and 9 a.m. from Cox’s Bazar, reaching Dhaka at 6:30 p.m. Each journey is scheduled to take nine hours and 30 minutes.

The train will stop at 12 intermediate stations, including Chattogram, allowing passengers along its former route to travel directly to Cox’s Bazar. Sunday remains its weekly day off, and fares are unchanged from existing rates.
