Bangladesh border guards foil alleged Indian push-in attempt involving six men

India’s Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly tried to push six men into Bangladesh through the Ramdaspur border in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj on Thursday morning, but Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) prevented them from entering, BGB said.

The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near the Ramdaspur Border Guard Post, which falls under BGB’s 16 Battalion in Naogaon, according to a BGB press release. The six men remained at the zero line after the attempt was stopped.

BGB said personnel from BSF’s Shamshernagar Camp, under its 12 Battalion, tried to send the men across the border. A patrol from the Ramdaspur post reached the area after receiving information about the attempt and blocked their entry.

BGB requested a flag meeting with BSF over the incident, said lt. col. Ariful Islam, commanding officer of the battalion.
