Four more ready-made garment factories in Bangladesh have earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, raising the national total to 290, according to Bangladesh Apparel Voice.
Canvas Garments Pvt. Ltd. in Chattogram and Matrix Sweaters Ltd. in Gazipur received Platinum certification, scoring 90 and 88 points, respectively. Karim Textiles Limited in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, earned Gold certification with 73 points, while Karim Tex Limited in Dhamrai, Dhaka, received Silver certification with 53 points.
Bangladesh now has 125 Platinum-rated and 145 Gold-rated garment factories. The country also accounts for 53 of the world’s 100 highest-scoring LEED-certified garment facilities, reinforcing its global position in sustainable apparel manufacturing, according to Mohiuddin Rubel, founder and chief executive officer of Bangladesh Apparel Voice.
