Bangladesh’s per capita income rose to $3,020 in fiscal year 2025-26 from $2,769 a year earlier, according to provisional Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics estimates released Wednesday.
The country’s economy reached $501 billion at current market prices, up from $456 billion in fiscal year 2024-25. Gross domestic product grew 4.14% at constant prices, compared with 3.49% in the previous fiscal year.
Per capita gross domestic product rose to $2,866 from $2,625. Services led growth at 4.59%, while agriculture expanded 2.78%. Industry slowed to 2.86% from 3.71%.
Investment slipped to 27.93% of gross domestic product, while domestic and national savings also declined. The estimates used a projected population of 174.81 million and an exchange rate of Tk 122.14 per dollar.
