Four companies and three industry leaders were recognized on Friday at the 10th BRAC Bank-The Daily Star Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Awards for their contributions to Bangladesh’s expanding technology sector.
The annual event marked a decade of celebrating achievements in digital finance, e commerce, entrepreneurship, health technology and innovation.
Kamal Quadir, founder and chief executive officer of bKash, received the ICT Business Person of the Year award for expanding mobile financial services to more than 82 million users.
AKM Fahim Mashroor, co founder of Bdjobs.com, was named ICT Pioneer for his long term work in digital recruitment and policy advocacy.
Ambareen Reza, managing director and co founder of foodpanda Bangladesh, received the ICT Woman of the Year award for leading nationwide growth in online delivery.
Pathao earned the Special Recognition Award for building the digital and gig economy.
Daraz Bangladesh won the Digital Commerce Award for supporting more than 70,000 online sellers.
TallyKhata received the ICT Start up Award for its bookkeeping tools for small firms, while Augmedix Bangladesh was named ICT Solution Provider of the Year for its work in health technology.
