Bangladesh police probe crude bomb blast near Asian Development Bank building in Dhaka

A crude bomb exploded Friday night outside the Asian Development Bank building in Dhaka’s Agargaon area, police said.

The device went off around 8:20 p.m. on the road adjacent to the ADB office, according to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Imaul Haque. No injuries were reported.

Police said officers are reviewing the area and nearby footage to identify those responsible.

The blast follows two similar crude bomb incidents reported earlier in the day in Mirpur’s BRTA area and under the Madhubagh Bridge in Hatirjheel. Authorities have not yet determined whether the explosions are connected. Additional patrols have been deployed in the affected neighborhoods as the investigation continues.
