At least 20 people were injured in Boalmari Upazila of Faridpur after a horse suspected of being rabid went on a violent rampage over the past two days, attacking residents with bites and kicks.
The incident came to light Sunday morning around 7 a.m. when the horse charged at people near College Road and a busy intersection, spreading panic across the town. Locals believe the horse’s aggression may have been triggered by a dog bite, though this remains unconfirmed.
Several victims were treated at Boalmari Upazila Health Complex with painkillers and tetanus injections, according to Dr. Morshed Alam. Residents said the animal has injured 20 to 25 people, including women, since Friday.
