Bangladesh’s dengue caseload reached 101,442 this year after 2,167 patients were admitted to hospitals in the 24 hours through Monday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Four more people died during the period, raising the 2026 death toll to 307. All four latest deaths occurred within Dhaka South City Corporation, the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room said.
September recorded 148 fatalities, the highest monthly toll this year. Dengue killed five people from January through May, followed by 13 in June, 36 in July, and 43 in August.
Health authorities also reported 2,428 patients recovered and left hospitals during the latest 24-hour period. That brought total recoveries this year to 95,333 as Bangladesh crossed the 100,000-case threshold.
