Bangladesh Honda expands motorcycle exports to Mexico

Bangladesh Honda Private Limited has exported Honda NX200 motorcycles to Mexico, expanding its international operations after previously shipping motorcycles to Guatemala, the company said Sunday.

The company, a joint venture between the Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation and Japan’s Honda Motor Co., said the shipment reflects improvements in production capacity, quality assurance and workforce efficiency.

Md Sakirul Islam Khan, special assistant to the prime minister, said the government remains committed to promoting manufacturing, exports and investment. He said the shipment would strengthen Bangladesh’s international recognition and support employment and export growth.

Managing director and chief executive officer Susumu Morisawa said Bangladesh Honda would increase local procurement, improve manufacturing competitiveness and explore additional overseas markets.

The company said exports could also support industrial development, technological advancement, domestic supply chains and Bangladesh’s emergence as a competitive motorcycle manufacturing base.
