Bangladesh recorded its highest daily number of dengue hospitalizations this year as 546 patients were admitted across the country during a 24-hour period, health authorities said.

One dengue patient also died during the period ending Sunday morning, raising the country’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 44 this year.

The new hospitalizations brought the total number of confirmed dengue cases in Bangladesh this year to 13,644. A total of 1,123 patients were receiving treatment at hospitals across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

The latest figures reflect continued pressure on the country’s health system during the dengue season.

Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 related deaths in 2025, according to the health services directorate. Authorities have not provided additional details about the latest fatality.
