At least 58 people have died and more than 1.2 million have been affected by heavy rains, flooding and landslides across Bangladesh, according to local media.
More than 52,000 families remain stranded as floodwaters continue to affect districts including Chattogram, Cumilla and Sylhet following a week of intense rainfall.
About 100,000 hectares of cropland were initially submerged. Water has begun receding after rainfall eased over the past two days, but roughly 82,000 hectares remain underwater.
Preliminary losses in the fisheries and livestock sectors are estimated at 488 crore taka, or about $39.6 million. A final assessment of the damage is expected next week.
Forecasters warned that heavy rainfall could resume within a day, raising concerns about renewed flooding in already affected communities.
