The Pakistan Cricket Board is considering boycotting its T20 World Cup match against India as a protest against the ICC’s decision to replace Bangladesh with Scotland.
The PCB is reviewing options, including refusing to play the high-stakes encounter scheduled for February 15 in Colombo. Insiders suggest forfeiting the match is a manageable loss compared to the financial and reputational impact of boycotting the tournament’s most lucrative fixture.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi criticized the ICC for double standards, accusing the global body of accommodating India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for other events.
Naqvi also criticized the BCCI, stating one country cannot dictate another.
The final decision rests with Pakistan’s federal government. Naqvi confirmed the board will announce its official stance once Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returns.
Pakistan is scheduled to open its campaign against the Netherlands on February 7.
