Four crude bombs exploded in different parts of Dhaka on Saturday, leaving one person injured, police said.
The injury occurred when a crude bomb exploded in front of Muktijoddha Super Market in Mirpur-1 around 4:30 p.m., Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Shah Ali police station, told The Daily Star. Assistant commissioner of police Emdad Hossain of the Darussalam zone said the victim sustained minor injuries. Police primarily suspect the bomb was thrown from the third floor of the market.
A trader said miscreants hurled the bomb from one of the floors.
At least three more crude bombs exploded within about an hour, according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Traffic Alert Group. Explosions occurred near Shantinagar west signal at 8:15 p.m., near Mirpur-10 police box at 8:25 p.m., and at Mouchak Crossing at 8:40 p.m. No casualties were reported. Dhaka Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Masud Alam said police teams rushed to the sites immediately.
