Families of army officers killed in the 2009 Bangladesh Rifles mutiny on Monday demanded swift prosecution of everyone named in the National Independent Investigation Commission’s report.
At a press conference in Dhaka, they urged the interim government to publish the full findings online and guarantee security for victims’ relatives. Several family members said they welcomed the report’s submission to the chief adviser but were frustrated that not all names linked to the attack were disclosed.
Advocate Saquib Rahman called for immediate legal steps, while others alleged political motives behind the mutiny and described receiving threats during testimony. Information and communication technology chief prosecutor Tajul Islam said the report identifies masterminds, beneficiaries and motives, offering a path to long-awaited accountability.
