A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck Dhaka on Saturday evening, marking the third tremor to hit Bangladesh in about 36 hours, officials said.
The quake was recorded at 6:06 p.m. and was felt across the capital and surrounding districts, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, which placed the epicenter in Dhaka’s Badda area.
The US Geological Survey, however, located the epicenter about 2 kilometers from Ghorashal in Narsingdi. No injuries or damage were reported.
Earlier in the day, a 3.3 magnitude tremor shook Narsingdi’s Palash upazila at 10:36 a.m. The series of quakes follows a powerful 5.7 magnitude earthquake on Friday that killed 10 people and rattled large parts of the country.
