Bangladesh and Bhutan signed two agreements Saturday to expand cooperation on health services and internet connectivity during Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay’s two-day visit to Dhaka.
The MoUs were formalized after talks between Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and Tobgay at the chief adviser’s office in Tejgaon. One agreement covers the appointment of health workers, while the other focuses on the trade of international internet bandwidth and related telecommunication services.
Tobgay received a 19-gun salute on arrival and later visited the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to honor Bangladesh’s war dead. He also expressed condolences for the victims of Friday’s earthquake. Senior Bangladeshi advisers met Tobgay ahead of an official banquet.
