Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has announced plans to visit Bangladesh in the coming months following a meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of the World Food Forum in Rome.
Lula accepted Yunus’s invitation, saying he hopes to make the trip by February to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in social business, universal healthcare, and poverty reduction.
The two leaders also discussed partnerships in pharmaceuticals, climate action ahead of COP30, and deep-sea fishing. Yunus said he may skip COP30 to focus on Bangladesh’s general election, calling it the country’s first fair vote in 16 years.
