Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus urged Bangladesh to expand its economic outlook beyond its borders, highlighting opportunities with neighbors such as Nepal, Bhutan, and India’s landlocked northeastern states.
Speaking at an Asia Society forum in New York, Yunus said these seven Indian states lack access to the sea, creating natural avenues for cooperation with Bangladesh’s ports.
“This is a narrow way of looking at yourself if you only think within national boundaries,” he said. He called for stronger cross-border ties through education, business, and student exchanges.
Yunus stressed that regional connectivity would unlock growth and prosperity, benefiting all South Asian nations.
