A Pakistani man was killed in Peshawar’s Sufaid Sang area on Saturday, allegedly after removing a member from a WhatsApp group, police said.
The victim, Mushtaq, was shot dead while seeking shelter at a petrol station. His brother, Humayun, told police that the attackers, Ishaq and Ashfaq, fired at them while they were on their way home. The dispute stemmed from a WhatsApp group used for land dispute alerts among local tribes.
Police said Ashfaq, a Frontier Constabulary personnel, was taken into custody, while efforts were ongoing to arrest Ishaq.
