Saudi restrictions disrupt 51 flights involving Bangladesh

Flight restrictions at Saudi Arabian airports have disrupted 51 direct and transit services involving Bangladesh and affected 5,418 passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said Monday.

Twelve direct flights were disrupted, including four operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, two by US-Bangla Airlines, three by Saudia Airlines, and three by Riyadh Airways. Another 39 transit flights involving six carriers were affected.

The restrictions followed attacks on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and continuing safety inspections. Saudi authorities had not specified when full operations would resume, The Financial Express reported.

CAAB advised passengers to contact airlines before traveling to the airport for current flight information, rescheduling, or alternative arrangements.

Bangladesh had previously reported fewer affected flights. The latest figures mark a substantial increase as thousands of travelers, including migrant workers, await new itineraries amid continuing uncertainty.
