An extended closure of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has disrupted eight flights serving Bangladesh and affected 2,951 passengers, airport authorities said, according to The Business Standard.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines suspended its scheduled Dhaka-Riyadh and Riyadh-Dhaka services for Oct. 11 and 12 after an attack shut the Saudi airport. The closure was extended until 3 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, Bangladesh time, the airline said in a notice.
The affected services include three Saudia flights, two each operated by Biman and Riyadh Air, and one operated by US-Bangla Airlines, according to airport flight management officials.
Biman said it would issue another update on flights and schedules at noon Monday, Bangladesh time. It apologized for the inconvenience and sought passengers’ cooperation.
Authorities were monitoring developments while awaiting further information about reopening and arrangements for affected passengers.
