Bangladesh police investigate crude bomb attack on BNP office in Satkhira

A crude bomb attack targeted a Bangladesh Nationalist Party office in Satkhira’s Kaliganj upazila late Friday, leaving one person injured, party officials said that the Business Standard.

Police recovered two unexploded crude bombs from the Bhara Shimla Union Bangladesh Nationalist Party office after visiting the scene during the night, said Shahidul Islam Howlader, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station.

“We are investigating who was involved in the incident,” Howlader said.

Sohel Rana, general secretary of the local party unit, said two bombs exploded during the attack, while two others failed to detonate. He said one person was injured.

Party leaders and activists expressed concern over the incident.

The attack occurred late Aug. 15, and police had not identified any suspects or announced arrests as of the initial investigation.
