Bangladesh prime minister says ‘secret forces’ are spreading confusion

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said Sunday that “secret forces” were again trying to create confusion and disorder by spreading false information among the public.

Rahman made the remarks during a rehabilitation program for flood victims at Hathazari College ground in Chattogram.

He said the Bangladesh Nationalist Party was the political party working for the welfare of the country’s people, while accusing some other parties of trying to obstruct development through misinformation.

Rahman said the public would decide what action should be taken against those seeking to block roads and mislead people.

He also said people’s futures would no longer be allowed to be treated as political playthings and that Bangladesh must move forward.

Rahman announced that necessary development initiatives for Chattogram would be carried out in phases.
