Bangladesh authorities dismantle Yaba factory, detain four and seize 2,000 tablets

Rapid Action Battalion officers detained four people and dismantled an alleged Yaba manufacturing operation during a raid on a factory in Keraniganj, authorities said.

The Rapid Action Battalion, known as RAB, conducted the raid Thursday night after receiving a confidential tip about a syndicate manufacturing and supplying the illegal stimulant, RAB-10 additional deputy inspector general Mohammad Asaduzzaman said at a news conference.

Authorities recovered about 2,000 Yaba tablets, chemical raw materials, production equipment and machinery from the factory, he said.

“Based on a secret tip-off, a raid was conducted on Thursday night in the Keraniganj area, uncovering the activities of a Yaba manufacturing and supplying syndicate,” Asaduzzaman said. “At this time, about 2,000 pieces of Yaba, various chemical raw materials, production equipment, and machinery were recovered from the Yaba manufacturing factory.”
