Bangladesh commission is examining polling centers with perfect turnout. Investigators are seeking officials who managed them.

Bangladesh’s Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating polling centers that reported 100% voter turnout during the 2018 national election, focusing on possible vote rigging and abuse of power.

The commission formed a five-member team in January 2025 to examine allegations that the former Awami League government used administrators, election officials and government personnel to influence results. The team, led by a commission deputy director, is seeking officials who managed centers reporting perfect turnout.

Separately, a commission team led by deputy director Hafizul Islam and accompanied by an executive magistrate searched a flat belonging to dismissed Maj. Gen. Ziaul Ahsan in Mirpur Defense Officers Housing Scheme.

Acting under a court order, officials opened the flat to inventory and seize assets. The operation followed a July 22 raid at another Ahsan residence in the Jalashiri Residential Project, where the commission reported finding valuable assets.
