Bangladesh has ranked 97th in the Henley Passport Index 2026, sharing the position with North Korea and remaining among the world’s weakest passports.
Bangladeshi passport holders can travel to 35 countries and territories without obtaining a visa in advance, according to the index, which uses data from the International Air Transport Association.
Several South Asian countries ranked higher, including the Maldives at 52nd, India at 80th and Bhutan at 85th. Nepal ranked 98th, Pakistan 101st and Afghanistan finished last at 104th.
Singapore retained the top position, giving its citizens access to 192 destinations without an advance visa. Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates shared second place with access to 188 destinations.
Henley and Partners said average visa-free access worldwide has increased from 58 destinations in 2006 to 108 in 2026, underscoring Bangladesh’s continuing mobility gap.
