Attacker hurls brick at Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s motorcade

A brick was thrown at Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s motorcade on Monday morning as he traveled by road to Barishal, according to local media reports.

The incident occurred at about 8:46 a.m. while the motorcade was crossing the Sadhu’s Bridge area in Madaripur. Rahman’s vehicle had already passed the location when the brick struck a Special Security Force vehicle assigned to protect the convoy.

The prime minister was not injured and remained safe following the incident.

Supporters and other residents had gathered along both sides of the road to welcome Rahman as his motorcade traveled through the area. Security personnel maintained the convoy’s protective perimeter and quickly moved it away from the scene after the brick was thrown.
