Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party, has called for legal action against India in an international court over the killing of Bangladeshi citizens along the border.
Patwary made the remarks during a visit to the Sadipur border in Benapole, Jessore, where he criticized what he described as continued violence and illegal actions at the frontier.
He said Bangladesh must not accept “push-ins” under any circumstances and urged the government to take urgent steps to stop such incidents. He added that if any Bangladeshi citizen is staying illegally in India, that person must be repatriated through proper legal procedures, not forced across the border.
Patwary also criticized the government’s handling of border issues, saying India would not have dared to act this way if Bangladesh had earlier taken a firm position against border killings, drug smuggling and what he called terrorist activities by Indian forces along the border.
On social media, Patwary said his motorcade was pelted with bricks while returning from the Sadipur border inspection.
The incident comes amid growing concern in Bangladesh over border deaths and alleged forced push-ins from India, issues that have frequently strained relations between the two neighbors.
