Law minister Mohammad Asaduzzaman declared today that anyone involved in institutional corruption faces imprisonment.
Speaking at a meeting with members of parliament and government officials, the law minister said Bangladesh has zero tolerance for corruption. He warned against illegal commissions and substandard materials in road projects. “If anyone tries to earn commission illegally, strict action will be taken,” he added.
The law minister criticized poor quality construction on the Jhenaidah-Kushtia road from Garaganj Bazar to Shailkupa. Contractors face blacklisting and maximum legal penalties.
Departments failing duties will see disciplinary action against heads plus complaints to Anti-Corruption Commission. He said government and opposition will eliminate corruption, terrorism, extortion, and drugs together. The law minister promised no compromise on development work quality.
