The preparatory phase of Bangladesh’s National Parliament election has been completed “very well” so far, according to Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to the interim government.
“We are very happy,” Yunus said in a statement, adding that the election campaigns are ongoing across the country in an enthusiastic and peaceful environment. “No one is speaking ill against anyone. There is no impolite behavior or rude speech. This is a very positive change for our political history and culture,” he stated.
Yunus made these remarks on Saturday at the State Guest House Jamuna, during a high-level meeting on the preparations for the National Parliament election, scheduled to be held on February 12. He expressed confidence that the voting process would be conducted fairly.
The next week is crucial for the voting process, Yunus said, urging all parties to remain peaceful and respectful. The Chief Adviser’s comments come as election campaigns continue across the country, with many voters expressing optimism about the upcoming vote.
