A Bangladeshi child wounded by a stray bullet allegedly fired from Myanmar along southern Teknaf border remained in critical condition on Tuesday.
The child, Afnan Ara, is on life support at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, authorities said.
Chattogram Medical College Hospital director brigadier general Taslim Uddin said, “The child underwent surgery on Sunday night. However, the bullet lodged in her head could not be removed. It is embedded in such a position that attempting to extract it could cause severe bleeding and lead to her death.”
He said Ara was on ventilator support and had shown “slight improvement since yesterday.”
