Robin Khuda, the Bangladesh-born founder of Australian data centre company AirTrunk, has been named to Forbes Asia’s 2025 Heroes of Philanthropy list after making a record donation to support education and gender equality in technology.
He gave 100 million Australian dollars, or 66 million United States dollars, to the University of Sydney, marking the largest single philanthropic gift in the institution’s history.
The Khuda Family Foundation will fund a 20-year programme that offers scholarships and sustained support for girls and women pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The announcement follows the 24 billion Australian dollars acquisition of AirTrunk by a consortium led by Blackstone. AirTrunk operates hyperscale data centres across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions to support growing digital infrastructure needs.
