U.S. military flight repatriates 39 Bangladeshis after their deportation from America

The United States returned 39 Bangladeshi nationals to Dhaka early Friday, bringing the total number repatriated this year to 187. The group arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:30 a.m. on a special U.S. military flight, airport officials said. BRAC provided transportation and emergency assistance upon arrival.

According to BRAC Migration Programme officials, at least 34 of the returnees had legally traveled to Brazil with BMET clearance before attempting to enter the United States through Mexico. Two others traveled directly to the United States, while three entered via South Africa. After reviewing their residency applications, U.S. authorities completed legal procedures and repatriated them to Bangladesh.
