The interim government is closely monitoring former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s activities in India and will take legal action against any Awami League members who act on her instructions, a top official said Saturday.
“Hasina is the butcher of Bengal. It is certainly under our monitoring what she is doing or directing from there,” said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
Hasina ordered a violent crackdown on her own citizens during last year’s uprising that left about 1,400 people dead, most of them students and young protesters.
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 will fix a date Nov. 13 to deliver its verdict in the crimes against humanity case against her.
