Bangladesh and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, agriculture, IT, energy, pharmaceuticals, and connectivity at the 9th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting in Dhaka — the first in 20 years.
Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed said the discussions aimed to boost livelihoods through renewed bilateral and regional engagement.
Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik noted that trade between the two nations remains below $1 billion and called for expanding cooperation beyond jute.
Both sides pledged to operationalize the agreed areas and make tangible progress before the next JEC session.
