OpenAI expands ChatGPT Go across South Asia to boost affordable AI access

OpenAI has expanded its budget-friendly ChatGPT Go plan across South Asia, bringing the $4.50-a-month subscription to Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, and several neighboring countries.

India, which received access earlier this year, already offers the service.

The plan provides affordable access to OpenAI’s GPT-5 model, enabling features like image generation, file uploads, and advanced data analysis with higher usage limits than the free version. OpenAI said ChatGPT adoption in lower-income countries has grown more than four times faster than in wealthier ones.

The rollout, available first on web and Android, aims to make advanced AI tools widely accessible.
