Police say an Indian man was shot dead by his cousin in northern Uttar Pradesh state after an argument over removing a dog’s carcass.
Officers identified the victim as Pramod Saxena, 45, and the suspect as Vivek Saxena, both residents of Shahjahanpur’s Badoozai locality.
Investigators said Vivek had accidentally run over a stray dog with his car three days earlier, and when Pramod urged him to remove the body, a dispute began.
On Sunday night, Vivek allegedly returned drunk and shot Pramod with a country-made pistol before fleeing.
Police have launched a search for the suspect.
