A new nationwide survey has found overwhelming support for holding Bangladesh’s 13th national election in February 2026, with nearly nine out of ten respondents backing the proposed timing.
The poll, conducted by Innovision Consulting between Sept. 2 and 15 among more than 10,000 eligible voters, revealed that 87 percent favor the February date. The findings indicate widespread agreement that the election should be held sooner rather than later, following months of speculation about timing.
Equally significant, nearly 70 percent of respondents expressed confidence that the interim government is capable of ensuring a fair vote. That trust reflects the administration’s efforts to present itself as a neutral caretaker amid political uncertainty.
Analysts say the survey results underscore both public eagerness to return to the polls and optimism about the process. The outcome, they note, will hinge on whether authorities can sustain voter confidence and deliver a credible election.
