A woman from Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar Upazila was allegedly gang-raped after mistakenly boarding the wrong train and disembarking at Tangail Rail Station on Friday night. According to reports, the woman realized she was on the wrong train and got off at Tangail’s Gharinda area. It is alleged that Dulal Chandra then raped her, after which Rupu Mia and Shojib Khan allegedly gang-raped her.
Following the incident, the woman informed local authorities. GRP Police and Tangail Police promptly responded and launched an investigation. On Saturday morning, police arrested Dulal Chandra, Shojib Khan, and Rupu Mia from the Brahmankushia Sutar Para area in connection with the alleged gang rape.
Harun Ur Rashid, Tanvir Ahmed, and Fatema Rahman Bithi have been named as suspects in connection with the incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
