Deshweek is committed to accuracy, fairness, and transparency in our journalism. When we make a factual error, we believe the responsible course is to acknowledge it and correct it promptly.
Our Correction Policy
Accuracy is fundamental to the trust between a news organization and its readers. Deshweek journalists and editors work to verify information before publication, but errors can occur.
When we determine that published information is materially inaccurate, we will correct it. Corrections should be clear, transparent, and proportionate to the error. We do not believe significant factual errors should simply disappear from an article without explanation.
Depending on the circumstances, Deshweek may correct the article and add a correction notice explaining what was wrong and what has been changed.
Minor typographical, grammatical, or formatting errors that do not affect the meaning of a story may be corrected without a formal correction notice.
A correction is different from an update. Stories may be updated as new information becomes available without the earlier reporting having been incorrect.
How Corrections Are Handled
When a possible error is brought to our attention, an editor will review the request and the relevant reporting.
We may examine source material, contact the reporter or editor involved, consult public records, or seek additional documentation when necessary.
If we determine that the story contains a factual error, we will correct the information as promptly as practicable and, when appropriate, add a correction notice to the article.
If the information was accurate when published but later changed, we may update the story rather than issue a correction.
We do not issue corrections simply because a person or organization disagrees with our reporting, characterization, analysis, or editorial judgment. Correction requests must identify a factual error.
Request a Correction
Readers are encouraged to tell us when they believe we have made an error.
To request a correction, email correct@deshweek.com.
Please include:
- The headline or URL of the article.
- The specific statement you believe is incorrect.
- An explanation of what you believe the correct information should be.
- Any documents, links, records, or other evidence that may help us verify the correction.
- Your name and contact information in case an editor needs additional information.
Providing specific information helps us review correction requests more efficiently.
What Happens After You Contact Us
Deshweek will review the information you submit. A correction request does not automatically mean that a correction will be issued.
If we confirm that an error occurred, we will determine the appropriate correction and update the article. Material corrections will generally include a note explaining the nature of the error and the corrected information.
Our goal is not merely to fix mistakes, but to maintain an accurate and transparent record of our journalism.
Questions or correction requests can be sent to correct@deshweek.com.
